ARA-290 (Cibinetide) (10mg)
Research ARA-290 (Cibinetide) vial, dispatched from Australian stock. In Stock
Non-erythropoietic erythropoietin-derived peptide
ARA-290 is an 11-amino-acid peptide patterned on the helix B surface of erythropoietin. It switches on the tissue-protective innate repair receptor while leaving the classical erythropoietin receptor alone, so red-cell mass does not rise. That separation is the entire reason the molecule exists.
How it works
The innate repair receptor is a heterodimer built from the EPO receptor and the beta-common receptor, found on stressed tissue rather than on bone marrow. When ARA-290 binds it, preclinical models show less apoptosis and reduced inflammatory signalling in nerve, kidney and heart tissue.
What the research reports
In Phase 2 trials for sarcoidosis-associated small-fibre neuropathy (Dahan et al., Mol Med 2013; Culver et al., Front Neurol 2017), corneal nerve-fibre density improved and neuropathic symptoms eased. Diabetic neuropathy and metabolic endpoints have likewise been studied.
Key research areas
- Small-fibre neuropathy — Corneal confocal microscopy endpoints
- Innate repair receptor — Selective activation that spares erythropoiesis
- Metabolic research — HbA1c and lipid changes in diabetic cohorts
- Tissue protection — Models of kidney and cardiac ischaemia

How to reconstitute ARA-290 (Cibinetide)
ARA-290 (Cibinetide) ships as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder and is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before laboratory use. Volumes used on this page: 10mg: 2 mL.
- Let the vial reach room temperature. Take it out of the freezer about 15 minutes beforehand so condensation doesn't form inside.
- Swab both stoppers. Wipe the ARA-290 (Cibinetide) vial and the bacteriostatic water vial with an alcohol swab and let them dry.
- Draw the water. Use a fresh syringe to draw the volume for your vial size from the bacteriostatic water vial.
- Add it slowly down the inside wall. Aim the stream at the glass, not at the powder, so the cake dissolves without foaming.
- Swirl, don't shake. Roll the vial gently between your fingers until the solution is clear. Shaking can damage the peptide.
- Label and refrigerate. Write the date and concentration on the vial and store it at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Never freeze reconstituted solution.
- Work out the concentration. The vial maths table above, or the calculator, converts milligrams and millilitres into mg/mL and syringe units.

Frequently asked questions
What is ARA-290 (Cibinetide)?
Non-erythropoietic erythropoietin-derived peptide.
What is ARA-290 (Cibinetide) studied for?
Small-fibre neuropathy: corneal confocal microscopy endpoints. Innate repair receptor: selective activation that spares erythropoiesis. Metabolic research: hbA1c and lipid changes in diabetic cohorts. Tissue protection: models of kidney and cardiac ischaemia. In Phase 2 trials for sarcoidosis-associated small-fibre neuropathy (Dahan et al., Mol Med 2013; Culver et al., Front Neurol 2017), corneal nerve-fibre density improved and neuropathic symptoms eased. Diabetic neuropathy and metabolic endpoints have likewise been studied.
ARA-290 (Cibinetide) before and after: what do the studies show?
Phase 2 trials in sarcoidosis small-fibre neuropathy reported higher corneal nerve-fibre density and lower neuropathic symptom scores across 28 days; in a diabetic cohort, HbA1c and lipids improved alongside the neuropathy measures.
What side effects has ARA-290 (Cibinetide) research reported?
Trials reported tolerability on a par with placebo and no erythropoietic effects, which is the molecule's purpose. Data beyond the trial durations are limited.
What is the ARA-290 (Cibinetide) dosage?
The published ARA-290 (Cibinetide) abstracts we cite do not state the amounts used, so there is no study figure to report. Peptide Aus supplies ARA-290 (Cibinetide) for in-vitro laboratory research and does not give dosing, cycle or usage guidance for people. The reconstitution section on this page covers how the vial is prepared.
ARA-290 (Cibinetide) vs erythropoietin: what is the difference?
ARA-290 retains EPO's tissue-protective receptor activity while dropping the red-cell effect.
How do you reconstitute ARA-290 (Cibinetide) (10mg)?
Add about 2 mL of bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside of the vial and swirl gently; do not shake. 10mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C after reconstitution and use within 8–12 weeks. The calculator has this vial preset.
How should ARA-290 (Cibinetide) be stored?
Lyophilised: −20 °C, sealed, away from light and moisture. Reconstituted: 2–8 °C, used within 8–12 weeks, never frozen.
Is ARA-290 (Cibinetide) legal in Australia?
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has not registered ARA-290 (Cibinetide) as a medicine in Australia, and it is not approved for human or veterinary use. Peptide Aus supplies it only as a research reagent for in-vitro laboratory work. In Australia the supply of any substance for human use is governed by the Poisons Standard and the Therapeutic Goods Act, and lawful use is the buyer's responsibility. If you are after a treatment, speak to a doctor.
Where can I buy ARA-290 (Cibinetide) in Australia, and what does it cost?
Directly from Peptide Aus, from Australian stock: ARA-290 (Cibinetide) (10mg) is $89.99 AUD including GST. Paid orders before 2pm AEST/AEDT dispatch the same business day, tracked.
